How does CBD actually impact our bodies and minds? Our bodies have receptors that interact with cannabis molecules called cannabinoids. CBD and THC are examples of cannabinoids that interact with those receptors located throughout our bodies. These receptors are known as the Endocannabinoid System, a complex signaling system that ensures our bodies maintain homeostasis or balance. In other words, it keeps us in balance by directing the communication traffic from our brain to the rest of our body.
The cannabis molecules, such as CBD, interact with this system by mimicking the natural cannabinoids that our bodies produce called endocannabinoids. Yes, our bodies produce their own natural copy of the cannabis molecule. That is why the reaction that CBD has is 100% natural to our bodies. Now, let's break that reaction down.
CBD interacts with the cannabinoid receptor activity and encourages the body to produce its own natural endocannabinoids. CBD is also known to go beyond the Endocannabinoid System to the opioid, dopamine, and serotonin receptors. By interacting with different systems, CBD helps with blocking pain in the muscle-skeletal system, as well as improving mood and appetite reacting with the body's endocrine (hormonal) system.
The research being done on CBD is far from complete, and we hope to unlock it's full medical and benefits. We will make sure to keep you updated on our newsletter for any new medical innovations on CBD. For more information, subscribe to our newsletter!
